Hyderabad, 12th July, 2016: KIMS Hospitals will conduct an hands-on training program on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at its premises for the Hyderabad Traffic Police on 16th July by a team of expert doctors of KIMS hospitals. This program aims to train traffic police personnel to resuscitate victims from sudden cardiac arrest.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a technique used to save lives in the case of Cardiac arrest to restore breathing and blood circulation before patient is transported to hospital. This training is important as traffic police personnel encounter these kind of situations in their daily jobs.
The session at KIMS Hospitals on CPR will be spearheaded by Dr. B.Hygriv Rao, Senior Cardiologist and Director - Division of Pacing and Electrophysiology along with his team of eminent doctors. Chief Guest Mr. Jitender, Additional Commissioner of Police – Traffic and special invitees Mr. L.S. Chowhan, DCP - Traffic, Hyderabad and Mr. A.V.Ranganath, DCP - Traffic, Hyderabad will grace the occasion.
The traffic police officials will be educated with interactive lectures, videos, presentations and hands on training sessions on mannequins for a holistic learning on CRP, thereby making them conversant with standard techniques of resuscitation. Through this program KIMS Hospitals plans on creating an impactful awareness on CRP to control the number of cardiac arrests occurring outside the hospitals, with the assistance from the city’s traffic police.
