KIMS offers the latest and most advanced care for both early and late stage prostate cancer. Our faculty are trained in Urologic oncology and have been consistently ranked among the top prostate cancer practitioners in India. Our Urologists have been pioneers in developing new innovations and technologies leading to safer and more effective treatments for patients. Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer found in men and usually begins without symptoms. The chances of surviving prostate cancer are greatly improved with early detection and treatment. At KIMS we offer the entire spectrum of treatment options including, but not limited to, nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy, robotically-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy, laparoscopic prostatectomy, brachytherapy, cryotherapy and active surveillance, as well as offering Targeted Prostate Biopsy using MR-Ultrasound Fusion to diagnose prostate cancer.

KIMS Bladder Cancer Program, is a multidisciplinary comprehensive program offering the latest treatments and compassionate care.

KIMS Testicular Cancer Program is multidisciplinary, comprehensive, and focuses on the whole patient. We offer personalized care that includes the latest testicular cancer treatments in surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

The Urologic Oncology Program offers the most up-to-date advances in diagnostic tools, surgical techniques, and medical and radiation therapies.

Diagnostic procedures available include: Ultrasound-guided needle biopsy of the prostate; Prostacint Scan to diagnose metastatic prostate cancer; Endoscopic diagnostics; Specialized ultrasound and software for identifying testicular tumors; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); Uropathology and Multidetector computerized tomography (CT) scanners, which allow near real-time 3D display of tumors and surrounding anatomy.

Surgery procedures available include :

  • Laparoscopic surgical procedures for some prostate or kidney cancers performed through tiny muscle-sparing incisions via video-assisted surgery.
  • Nerve-sparing surgery to preserve potency is available to men with prostate cancer.
  • Endoscopic surgical procedures
  • Prostatectomy
  • Cystectomy with the construction of urinary conduits and new bladders
  • Nephrectomy (open incision)
  • Orchiectomy with lymph node dissection for testicular cancer
  • Interventional radiologists with significant experience in percutaneous and intraoperative ablation techniques cooperate with your urologist

A number of urologic cancers can be treated with the assistance of the da Vinici® surgical robot - a minimally invasive option that duplicates the standard surgeries but with smaller incisions and greater accuracy for better outcomes. A high percentage of patients are good candidates for these procedures. In addition, our surgical team has expertise in :

  • Nerve-sparing prostatectomy for prostate cancer
  • Robotic cystectomy and neobladders for bladder cancer
  • Retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy for testicular cancer
  • Partial nephrectomy and removal of kidney cancers invading the vena cava

  • CT-based three-dimensional (3D) imaging is unlike traditional treatment planning. 3D imaging allows radiation oncologists to view a tumor from all angles and make tumor-targeting much more precise, reducing the amount of radiation delivered to normal tissue.
  • Image registration - 3D imaging can be used on previous diagnostic scans from other institutions, to determine original tumor size and location and avoid additional CT scans.
  • KIMS is one of a few cancer centers in India to offer intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), which allows safer and more precise distribution of radiation

  • Outpatient administration of chemotherapy
  • Hormonal and immunotherapy treatment programs
  • Access to experimental protocol chemotherapy for eligible patients
  • Neoadjuvant (chemotherapy before surgery) treatment for selected cancers
  • Optimizing palliation of symptoms in cooperation with other specialties
