Generally speaking this surgery is safe. However there are risks associated with male breast reduction surgery including numbness or reduced sensation in nipples, infection, and fluid accumulation in breasts, bleeding, scarring and any adverse reaction to anaesthesia.
At KIMS Plastic Surgery we make sure that we make incisions in natural curves and around areolas so that the scars, if any, get camouflaged and are not visible without close inspection.
Breast implants generally last 10-15 years, unless there is some damage to the implants or there is some change in shape, in which case you have to do revision surgery to get the issue sorted.
While there are risks associated with silicone implants (for example rupture), it is generally considered safe for use and no study till now has associated silicone implants with any disease.
Normally breasts don’t enlarge after surgery. But if you gain too much weight, become pregnant or got the surgery done as an adolescent or teenager when the breasts were still growing, the size of the breasts may increase again. But such increases should be manageable. If not you may have to go for a follow up surgery.
