They perform risk stratification and peri-operative planning for high-risk surgical candidates, support intra-operative management of haemodynamics and organ function during major GI and transplant surgeries, and oversee post-operative critical care, including hemodynamic monitoring, organ support, and early rehabilitation. The team also coordinates multidisciplinary care across surgery, anaesthesia, critical care, nephrology, cardiology, and nutrition, implements Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, and leads infection control and antibiotic stewardship efforts in peri-operative settings.
