Dr. Aravind Unnikrishnan is a Specialist in Radiology at KIMS Sreechand Hospital, Kannur. He completed his MBBS from Government T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha, followed by a DNB in Radio Diagnosis from KG Hospital and Postgraduate Medical Institute, Coimbatore.
Dr. Aravind has received comprehensive training in diagnostic radiology with experience in interpreting a wide range of imaging studies across multiple modalities. Prior to joining KIMS Sreechand Hospital, he worked as a Junior Resident in the Department of Radiology at KG Hospital and Postgraduate Medical Institute, Coimbatore, where he gained extensive experience in diagnostic imaging and image-guided procedures. He subsequently served as a Registrar in the Department of Radiology at Apollo Main Hospital, Chennai, further strengthening his expertise in advanced radiological imaging and reporting.
His areas of expertise include X-ray interpretation, fluoroscopic procedures such as micturating cystourethrogram (MCU), intravenous pyelography (IVP), hysterosalpingography (HSG), and ascending urethrogram (AUG), general and Doppler ultrasonography, CT scan reporting for head and body imaging, and MRI reporting with special interest in brain and spine imaging. He is also experienced in advanced imaging techniques using high-end CT and MRI systems and has undergone specialized training in musculoskeletal ultrasound and fetal ultrasound.
Dr. Aravind has actively participated in several national academic conferences and training programs in radiology, including the Annual Conference of the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Chapter of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), SOIICON Oncoimaging Conference, and advanced hands-on workshops in musculoskeletal and fetal ultrasound. His research work includes the characterization of adrenal masses using contrast-enhanced CT washout studies.
