Brief Profile :

At KIMS Thane, Dr. Shwetal Pawar serves as the Senior Consultant and Head of the Nuclear Medicine Division. She earned her MBBS from Rural Medical College, Pravaranagar, Maharashtra. Later, she trained as a postgraduate in Nuclear Medicine at P D Hinduja National Hospital and MRC, Mumbai.

Dr. Pawar worked for 16 years at the esteemed Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai. During a sabbatical, she received a fellowship in Pediatric Nuclear Medicine from Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London, UK. After years of dedicated clinical and teaching service at Seth G S Medical College, she was promoted to Associate Professor and Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department. She has actively contributed to academia with numerous publications and textbook chapters.

In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Pawar extended her expertise to the private sector through Pulse Diagnostic Center and Infinity Medical Center. She has a special interest in pediatric, neurological, and oncological applications of Nuclear Medicine. She has also been involved with the comprehensive epilepsy care unit at KEM Hospital and collaborated with the Mumbai chapter of the Hemophilia Society to support hemophilia services.

Dr. Pawar served as the president of the Western chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine India, overseeing academic activities in Mumbai and surrounding regions.

She currently works full-time at KIMS Hospital Thane, managing PET/CT, SPECT CT (Gamma Camera) services, and radionuclide therapies, including radioiodine therapies.
