Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center

At KIMS Hospitals, Electronic City, rehabilitation is delivered through a collaborative approach. Our team comprises PMR specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, prosthetists and orthotists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, social workers, and trained rehabilitation nurses. Together, they ensure comprehensive care addressing physical recovery, psychological support, and social and vocational reintegration.

Rehabilitation, as described by the WHO, involves a series of interventions aimed at improving function and reducing disability in people with health conditions while helping them adapt to their environment.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) also called Physiatry or Rehabilitation Medicine—is a medical specialty dedicated to restoring physical abilities, encouraging independence in daily life, and improving overall quality of life for individuals with neurological, musculoskeletal, and systemic disorders involving the brain, spine, nerves, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.

Our specialists carry out thorough assessments, precise diagnoses, and design customised therapy plans suited to each patient’s condition and capabilities. This integrated model of care ensures that patients receive continuous and coordinated treatment.

We provide both Outpatient (OP) and Inpatient (IP) rehabilitation services for a broad spectrum of conditions, including:

  • Musculoskeletal pain and joint disorders
  • Sports-related injuries
  • Neurological conditions (stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, Guillain-Barré syndrome, nerve damage, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, Parkinson’s disease, etc.)
  • Cardiac rehabilitation after heart conditions or procedures
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation for chronic respiratory issues
  • Rheumatological rehabilitation (including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, etc.)
  • Pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Cancer-related rehabilitation (including post-mastectomy lymphedema management)
  • Geriatric and paediatric rehabilitation (such as cerebral palsy, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD)

At KIMS Hospitals, Electronic City, our focus goes beyond short-term recovery. We aim to empower patients with knowledge, lifestyle modifications, and preventive strategies so they can sustain long-term health and well-being.
