Lifesaving ECMO support: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is an artificial life support to help patients suffering from lung and heart dysfunction. ECMO works by continuously pumping blood out of the body and sending it through various apparatus to add oxygen and remove carbon dioxide. Once re-perfused, the machine then pumps blood back into the body.
Advanced procedures like Dialysis and Plasmapheresis: Plasmapheresis is a procedure to extract plasma from blood from healthy individuals to treat specific medical disorders such as thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), auto-immune flares, etc. Dialysis is a process for kidney failure patients to filter waste and excess fluid from the blood. There are two types of dialysis, haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
