Dr. Vamshi Krishna Terala is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with over 14 years of experience treating bone, joint, and sports injuries. He specialises in keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery of the shoulder, knee, and ankle. Patients come to him with ligament tears, cartilage damage, and joint pain that keeps them from work, sport, and daily life, and his aim is to get them back to full activity.
He is trained internationally. He holds FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, one of the world's oldest surgical colleges and an International student. He also holds Diploma in Sports Medicine from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the same body that sets the standards for caring for Olympic athletes. Few orthopaedic surgeons in India hold both qualifications. This combination means he looks after the whole athlete, not just the injury: diagnosis, surgery when it's needed, rehabilitation, and a safe return to sport.
Before joining KIMS, Dr. Vamshi Krishna was Senior Consultant at MagnAid Hospital and Honorary Consultant at Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda. He has also worked at CARE Hospitals, Hyderabad. His research has been published in the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery (JBJS), and he has presented at national and international meetings, including the European Society for Vascular Surgery in Spain.
