About:

Dr. Anu Asaithambi has completed her DM in Pediatric Nephrology at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore in December 2025. She previously earned her MD in Pediatrics from AIIMS, New Delhi, and her MBBS from Madras Medical College, Chennai. She was the Tamil Nadu state topper in the 2010 board examinations.

Her clinical experience covers a broad range of pediatric nephrology diseases including CKD, nephrotic syndrome, glomerular diseases, tubulopathies, CAKUT, hypertension, and pediatric kidney transplantation. She is proficient in dialysis modalities such as peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, CRRT, SLED, and plasmapheresis, and skilled in procedures including pediatric kidney biopsies, hemodialysis catheter placement, and acute dialysis care in the PICU.

Experience:

  • DM Resident (St. John's Medical College, Bangalore): Jan 2023 – Dec 2025. Engaged in teaching PG students, faculty for hemodialysis workshops, and contributed to quality improvement in dialysis and transplant protocols.
  • MD Paediatric Resident (AIIMS, New Delhi): Jul 2017 – Jul 2020. Focused on clinical training in Pediatrics and Neonatology, neonatal resuscitation, and worked in the COVID ICU.

Procedural Proficiencies:

  • Biopsy & Dialysis Access: Ultrasound-guided percutaneous kidney biopsy, insertion of acute peritoneal dialysis catheters, and temporary hemodialysis vascular access (femoral/jugular).  
  • Dialysis: Peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler), hemodialysis for all age groups (including neonates), and critical care nephrology (CRRT, SLED, Plasmapheresis).  
  • Imaging: Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and renal imaging.
