About - Dr. M. Jayasree:

Following the completion of DM Neurology and Senior Residency at NIMS, Dr. Jayasree joined KIMS Hospital, Secunderabad, as a Consultant Neurologist in August 2017. Since then, Dr.Jayasree has been actively involved in the diagnosis and management of a wide spectrum of neurological disorders, including acute stroke, parkinsons disease, movement disorders,  epilepsy,  Guillain–Barré syndrome, myasthenia gravis, neuropathies, neuroinfections, neuromuscular disorders and demyelinating and autoimmune disorders of CNS. In collaboration with the interventional radiology team, she has expertise in successfully treating patients requiring acute stroke interventions, including intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy, contributing to improved patient outcomes.

With a focused interest in Movement Disorders, Dr. Jayasree has developed expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex and rare movement disorders, including drug-induced, genetic, metabolic, and autoimmune etiologies. Several of these challenging cases have been presented at state and national scientific conferences. As an integral member of the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Magnetic Resonance guided focused ultrasound (MRGFUS) program, Dr.Jayasree evaluates patients with Parkinson’s disease and tremor syndromes for DBS vs MRGFUS and is actively involved in postoperative programming and long-term management in collaboration with the neurosurgical team.

Dr.Jayasree has extensive experience in managing diverse neuroinfectious conditions, including tuberculous meningitis, pyogenic and viral meningitis, and infective and autoimmune encephalitis. Supported by round-the-clock EEG and bedside EEG services, she has expertise in the timely evaluation and management of patients presenting with seizures and encephalopathies.

Through a dedicated ENMG lab, Dr.Jayasree has significant expertise in diagnosing and treating neuromuscular disorders, including Guillain–Barré syndrome, Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), motor neuron disease, vasculitic neuropathies, muscular dystrophies such as Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies, inflammatory myopathies, and metabolic myopathies.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, Dr.Jayasree also takes care of the academics for the DNB Neurology training program, overseeing structured academic activities including weekly seminars, journal clubs, EEG and ENMG tutorials, and case discussions. In accordance with DNB academic guidelines, Dr.Jayasree has coordinated internal assessments and external practical examinations over the past eight years, reflecting a sustained commitment to postgraduate medical education, academic excellence, and the advancement of neurological training.
