A 28-day-old baby with severe breathing difficulty was successfully treated at KIMS Cuddles, Kondapur, without the need for a tracheostomy.
The infant was diagnosed with Grade 2 subglottic stenosis, a narrowing of the airway just below the vocal cords. Using a specialized 6-mm balloon dilation technique, our ENT team carefully opened the narrowed airway, allowing the baby to breathe freely again.
The procedure was particularly challenging due to the infant’s extremely small airway, young age and other medical concerns. After close monitoring and neonatal care, the baby recovered well and was successfully discharged.
A testament to advanced expertise, precision and compassionate neonatal care.
