A 22-year-old patient with a life-threatening central airway obstruction was successfully treated with Rayalaseema’s first emergency rigid bronchoscopy with metallic Y-stent placement.

Brought in unconscious and requiring mechanical ventilation, the patient received a 16 × 60 mm Y-stent placed by Dr. Yasho Vardhan Mangisetty, restoring airflow to both lungs. Remarkably, he was off ventilator support the very next day and discharged for further oncological care.
