Advanced OCT-Guided Stenting Saves 67-Year-Old at KIMS-Saveera

Doctors at KIMS Saveera Hospital successfully treated a 67-year-old man who suffered a severe heart attack using advanced Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)-guided stenting, helping him avoid open-heart bypass surgery.

Led by Dr. Spandana Komma, Consultant Cardiologist, the team managed a complex case involving critical triple vessel disease and severe narrowing of the left main coronary artery. Using high-resolution OCT imaging, the team achieved precise stent placement through a minimally invasive procedure.

The patient recovered well, was discharged in stable condition, and has safely resumed his daily activities.

This case highlights the role of advanced imaging technology in delivering safer, more precise, and minimally invasive cardiac care.
