Doctors at KIMS Hospitals, Kurnool, successfully saved the life of a 47-year-old kidney failure patient using Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), an advanced dialysis technique used for critically ill patients.
The patient developed septic shock, seizures, severe acidosis, and dangerously low blood pressure, making conventional dialysis highly risky. The medical team led by Dr. K. Anantha Rao, Consultant Nephrologist & Transplant Physician, opted for CRRT, which provides slow and continuous dialysis support in unstable patients.
After 48 hours of intensive treatment and monitoring, the patient recovered successfully and was discharged in stable condition.
Doctors highlighted that the availability of advanced CRRT services at KIMS Kurnool is helping critically ill patients in the Rayalaseema region access life-saving care closer to home.
