Dr. Geetha Devi M.K

Overview:

Dr. Geetha Devi M.K  is a dedicated and compassionate dermatologist with over 27 years of rich experience in government service. She has extensive knowledge in treating both acute and chronic skin diseases, such as leprosy and facial lesions, using electrocautery. With strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach, she is committed to providing high-quality, scientifically proven treatment tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

Her ability to build confidence and comfort with patients helps provide not only effective treatment but also emotional support throughout their healing process. With her rich experience in treating patients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, Dr. Geetha Devi is a respected expert in delivering respectful, inclusive, and equitable dermatological care.

Their medical education began with the completion of an MBBS degree from the Government Medical College, Kottayam, during the period from 1978 to 1984. Later, during the period from 2001 to 2004, they also completed an MD in Dermatology from the same college.

From 1988 to 1990, served as a Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at Government Medical College, Thrissur. Then, from 1990 to 2001, worked as an Assistant Surgeon at the Government Hospital, Nedumpana. From 2010 to 2015, worked as a Consultant Dermatologist at the Government District Hospital, Kollam. Retired from government service on 31/07/2015 after 27 years of service. Currently has 37 years of experience in this field.

Achievements:

• Received Award and Certificate for being listed in “Inspiring Dermatologists of India” by Economic Times in 2021.
• Received Award for the Best Original Article Published in Kerala Medical Journal (Leprosy Review)
• Received Appreciation Award for the Medical Officer in charge of the Best Pulari Clinic (Govt. District Hospital Kollam) in the year 2012-2013.
• Spearheaded Multi-Drug Therapy for treating Leprosy in Leprosy  Sanatorium Nooranad and other affected areas
