Overview:

Dr. Naveen R, Associate Consultant in Pulmonary Medicine, is a highly trained specialist with expertise in managing a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung diseases (ILD), and allergic respiratory disorders. He is also skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders, including parasomnias, through sleep studies and polysomnography. His procedural competencies include diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB), bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), and pleural interventions such as thoracentesis, intercostal drain (ICD) insertion, and thoracoscopy.

 Dr. Naveen is experienced in intensive care management involving non-invasive ventilation (NIV) and mechanical ventilation and is actively engaged in smoking cessation and pulmonary rehabilitation programs. He completed his MBBS and MD in Respiratory Medicine from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, and earned a DNB from the National Board of Examinations. He previously served as Senior Resident at Government Medical College, Konni.

 Dr. Naveen’s contributions to academic medicine include an original paper presentation at PULMOCON 2022, a national pulmonary conference, and he is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS and ACLS) by the American Heart Association. Additionally, he has served as faculty and mentor for clinical training of junior residents and interns, reflecting his commitment to both clinical excellence and medical education.

Fluent in English, Malayalam, and with a working knowledge of Tamil & Hindi, he ensures clear and compassionate communication with patients from diverse backgrounds.
