With fluctuating temperatures in Hyderabad, seasonal viral illnesses like Influenza A & B, RSV, H3N2 and Rhinovirus are spreading rapidly — especially in crowded areas. Symptoms include fever, sore throat, cough, chills, headache and weakness, affecting both adults and children.
🩺 Dr. V. V. Ramana Prasad, Consultant Pulmonologist at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, advises that seasonal respiratory infections are increasing due to weather changes, and flu vaccination can reduce complications.
💡 Precautions to follow:
✔ Wash hands frequently
✔ Stay hydrated & eat water-rich fruits
✔ Gargle with warm salt water for sore throat
✔ High-risk groups (diabetics, cancer patients, transplant recipients) must be extra cautious
✔ If symptoms persist beyond 3–4 days, consult a doctor immediately
🛡️ Prevention is protection. Stay alert this season.
