Doctors, Nurses and Administrative staff under stress! Meditation, the way out
- KIMS Hospitals observes World Hypertension Day with a Meditation Session
Hyderabad; May 17, 2017: Hypertension or Blood pressure, one of the prominent reasons for heart attack or stroke or kidney failure, has simple remedies like meditation or yoga!
On the occasion of World Hypertension Day 2017, the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS Hospitals) Secunderabad, under the aegis of Heartfullness Meditation Centre, organized a Meditation Session for Doctors and Nursing staff at its premises today. A total of 200 participants took part in the 60 minutes long Session.
Dr. Aloke C Mullick, Chief Operating Officer, KIMS Hospitals anchored the session and explained the importance of meditation to tackle the chronic and life-threatening issue of hypertension. Various aspects related to hypertension were discussed on the occasion and how issues such as stress, lifestyle, diet and exercise influence hypertension were explained.
Commenting on the growing stress levels among medical practitioners and staff Dr Bhaskar Rao MD and CEO Kims Hospitals said, “Doctors and healthcare professions across the world work under certain stressful conditions, and need a channel to vent it out! Meditation is certainly the best form to de-stress and we as Doctors not just preach but also practice it. At KIMS Hospitals, we encourage our Doctors and all other staff to practice meditation and yoga on a daily basis, to ensure they maintain good quality lifestyle.”
At the end of the Session, all the participants took a on the occasion by all to mediate 10 minutes every day before and after their office hours.
