In a rare and life-threatening case, doctors at KIMS Hospitals saved the life of a 24-year-old man who suddenly developed vomiting, seizures, severe headache, memory loss, and partial loss of consciousness within a few hours.
🩺 Dr. Sumanth Kumar Nyathani, Consultant Neurosurgeon, explained that scans revealed a tumor in the frontal part of the brain at the junction of the third ventricle, causing acute hydrocephalus — a dangerous buildup of pressure due to blocked cerebrospinal fluid flow.
⚠️ With the condition rapidly worsening, the team performed an emergency minimally invasive endoscopic brain surgery, removing the tumor through a small opening in the skull and restoring normal CSF circulation — a procedure usually done only in major metro centers.
✨ With timely intervention, advanced infrastructure, and expert care, the patient recovered quickly and was discharged on the third postoperative day.
